A real phoenix from the flames! Remarkable dragon-like image captured in roaring bonfire

When bonfire night comes around each year some celebrations can occasionally drag-on a little bit.

But unlike a run-of-the-mill fireworks display there was certainly something to see at a celebration in Fairford, Gloucestershire.

That's thanks to this phoenix-like creature - which shocked revellers as it rose from the ashes of the roaring bonfire.

Stunned by the glowing beast as it roared across the newly lit bonfire, photographer Adam Da Silva, 45, captured the unusual sight while at the celebrations with his daughters Rhianna, 17, Rosalie, 15 and Isabella, three,

The father-of-three, who has been taking pictures for 22 years, had expected to fail in his bid to impress his daughters by his snaps, but even they were surprised by the beast.

Having used his trusty Canon 7D digital SLR camera to snap the dragon he said: 'I was trying to get a picture of Guy Fawkes falling down but then I spotted something round the other side of the bonfire.

'I quickly made my way over and took a few snaps of the flames.

'It was only when I got home that I realised how clear the shape of the dragon was.

'It happened so quickly, it just danced across the bonfire for a couple of seconds.'

'I was there with my little daughter Isabella and she was around my leg and saying 'isn't it warm Daddy?'.

'Unfortunately she didn't like the loud bangs of the fireworks so I didn't get to enjoy the display but she was very impressed when we returned home and looked at the pictures.

'She likes the dragon a lot.'
